Non-Immigrant “O” Visa
***For Chinese applicants who intend to stay in Thailand longer than 90 days, the Consulate is required to submit your application to the relevant agencies in Thailand to get an approval from them first. Since we cannot tell how long the relevant agencies need to review your application, please submit your application to us approximately 4 weeks in advance***
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
1. Passport or travel documents with validity of not less than 6 months
2. A photocopy of passport or travel document
3. Four visa application forms completely filled out in English
4. Four recent photographs of the applicant with white background (2 inches)
5. Fully-paid, confirmed air ticket and its photocopy
6. Current bank statement with minimum balance of 50,000 RMB
7. Invitation letter (in English or Thai) from the person of reference in Thailand (only immediate family members including parents and spouses) stating the purpose of the applicant’s visit, duration of stay and assumption of responsibility during his/her stay, detailed address and phone number in Thailand
a. If the person of reference is Thai, submit a photocopy of his/her identification card or passport issued by Thai government.
b. If the person of reference is non-Thai:
Worker: submits a photocopy of his/her passport, visa page and work permit
Student: submits a photocopy of his/her passport and visa page; student certification; a photocopy of school registration and school license
8. Original copy of Guarantee Letter (in English or Thai) from the applicant’s local guarantor, indicating: “applicant’s name, purpose and period of the stay in Thailand and guaranteeing that the applicant will come back to China as scheduled.” (Seal or signature must be fresh. Print, scan or copy is not allowed)
a. For Company Employee: a guarantee letter, a photocopy of company business license, a photocopy the legal representative’s identification document. All documents must be affixed with the company’s seal and signed by the legal representative
b. For Self-Employed Applicant, Unemployed, Retired applicant: a guarantee letter issued by the Sub-District Office (街道办事处) or the local police station
c. For Student: a guarantee letter issued by the school or academic institution is required
d. For foreigner with Chinese residence permit other than study or work: a guarantee letter issued by their respective consulates
9. Official proof issued and notarized by official authorities to indicate the relationship of the applicant and the person of reference (relatives) in Thailand such as the residence booklet, the birth certificate of the child or marriage certificate, in Thai or English
The applicant who has renewed passport within one year should bring the old passport when submitting the application

Travelers coming to Thailand with this type of visa will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period not exceeding 90 days
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
- All payments of visa processing fees are non-refundable.
- The issuance of all types of visa is solely at the discretion of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu.
- Consular officers reserve the rights to request any additional documents or ask for an interview with the applicants.
- The applicants should submit the application form and relevant documents in person.
- Only applicants with residence in Sichuan and Chongqing are eligible to apply for this type of visa
